How it worksMale-pattern baldness is a hereditary condition caused by an excess of hormones called androgens. Propecia works by decreasing the production and blocking the hormone responsible for hair loss. PROPECIA (finasteride) is a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound, which is a specific inhibitor of steroid Type II 5a-reductase, an intracellular enzyme that converts the androgen testosterone into 5a-dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This pill in Clinical tests has provide evidence that PROPECIA does works and is very effective treatment for hair lose on men. Most men have reported an increase in the amount of hair, a decrease in hair loss, and an improvement in appearance after taking Propecia daily for three months. Yet, for a very small number of men, Propecia has not worked and has not proven to be successful in rejuvenating hair on the head. Only a very small number of men had sexual side effects, with each occurring in less than 2% of men. They included less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection, and a decrease in the amount of semen. When the men who had these side effects stopped taking PROPECIA, the side effects went away. There is no evidence that PROPECIA works for receding hairlines at the temples of the head however.
The FactsThe fact is, for most men, PROPECIA works. The results of 2 years of clinical testing of 18 to 41 males, it has showed favorable results for the vast majority of men who use PROPECIA. The main findings of this research showed that: -
